I was raised in the Nashville area (Franklin, TN), which accounts for my lifelong interest in music, but went off to college in the East coast at the College of the Holy Cross then to medical school in New Orleans at Tulane University.
As a result, I have a transportable job and enough time to pursue my interests which have expanded to competitive shooting and woodworking.
I spent over 30 years in the Army and Navy Reserves eventually reaching the rank of Colonel before I retired and was the team physician for the US Shooting Team from 1979 through 1984 which allowed me to fulfill my dream of going to the Olympics, even if it was as an official.
I have a book in print, Mental Training for the Shotgun Sports, and another book on bank fishing which is out of print.
My wife Joyce and I live in Fond du Lac, WI with our two dogs, Mara and Lotte. Our sons, Jay and Roy, are a physician and physics graduate student respectively and are enjoying the fruits of a good education.
We have two Rottweilers, so don't try to sneak into our house.
